The educational programs of the SPE-Chicago Section were of importance in learning basics of plastics engineering and tooling that were lacking in prior academic background. Dennis L. Hayford: Now retired, a mechanical engineer by education, and sold all thermoplastic materials for many years. For 15 years, Dennis was the Executive Director at the Polymers Center of Excellence, a not-for-profit polymer education and contract research facility.
